Time is this crazy thing….crazier these days as I look back to a year ago when the world lost a bright light. I’d be remised if I didn’t acknowledge the anniversary of my friend Shawn’s passing. Although time has allowed many of us to incorporate more laughter into our stories and memories than tears, I am sure there are not days that go by that Shawn doesn’t still touch lives. Probably not surprising,  but certain songs just ting my heart and I instantly think of Shawn. So what I’m listening to this week is dedicated to Shawn.

Some of my most fun and craziest moments were when I got to hang out with Shawn. His free spirit was infectious and you always knew you were going to have a blast when Shawn was around. Although some of these songs may lend themselves to a more somber emotion (how can they not!?) One word I always use to describe Shawn is swagger…some just have it…most don’t… but Shawn indeed owned it…. So I will choose to start with one song that I know Shawn would LOVE if the world thought of him when they heard LOL I know I do 🙂 The rest of these songs have brought me some perspective and yes at times tears but are songs that I find solace in during hard times. I hope they may bring you some peace as well.

Shortly after Shawn passed I wrote this blog. Death affects us all differently but there’s a quote that goes “Keep listening to music, cause it gets you through everything, I promise”….and I promise no matter what you may be going through, music may just get you through everything! Give it a try!
